Gustavo Marrero, gerente general de la Federación de Golf de Costa Rica no dudo en considerar que el torneo fue bastante bonito y les permitió a los jugadores, de los ocho equipos, mostrar un sentimiento de unión, deseo de competir y disfrutar de este deporte como en los tiempos anteriores a la pandemia.
Reconoció que la competencia durante el desarrollo del Horace Kelton fue ardua, tanto así que el equipo que iba a la cabeza el primer día terminó tercero, en clara demostración que los equipos se prepararon bien y aceptaron de buen ánimo el formato del torneo.
En cuanto al campo de Reserva Conchal Marrero declaró que es imposible encontrar queja alguna porque es espectacular y es considerado una de las mejores del país.
Para Guanacaste organizar torneos como el Horace Kelton, que tiene la denominación de campeonato nacional, es importante si tenemos en cuenta que la Federación organiza ocho campeonatos nacionales que se disputan en diferentes canchas, con el propósito de promover este deporte a nivel nacional, por eso es que desde ya invitamos a los jugadores a participar en la próxima edición a realizarse en el campo de Iguana Golf Course, en Herradura.
Satisfactory to play golf as before the pandemic
Gustavo Marrero, general manager of the Golf Federation of Costa Rica, did not hesitate to consider that the tournament was quite beautiful and allowed the players from the eight teams to show a sense of unity, a desire to compete and enjoy this sport as in the times before the pandemic.
He acknowledged that the competition during the Horace Kelton was tough, to the point that the team leading on the first day ended up in third place, clearly demonstrating that the teams were well prepared and accepted the tournament format with good spirits.
Regarding the Reserva Conchal course, Marrero stated that it is impossible to find any complaints because it is spectacular and considered one of the best in the country.
For Guanacaste, organizing tournaments like the Horace Kelton, which is designated as a national championship, is important considering that the Federation organizes eight national championships that take place in different courses, with the purpose of promoting this sport at a national level. That’s why we are already inviting players to participate in the next edition, to be held at the Iguana Golf Course in Herradura.
