Después de quedar constituida formalmente la Cámara de Turismo de la Zona Azul los empresarios de Sámara, Nosara, Puerto Carrillo, Punta Islita, Puerto Humo y San Vicente de Nicoya, Pozo de Agua y Tempisque ofrecen al turismo nacional y extranjero una amplia variedad de atracciones.
La conformación de esta organización que tiene como órgano de decisión las cámaras de turismo de Sámara, Nosara y Nicoya, cuenta con el apoyo de la municipalidad de este cantón, el Instituto Costarricense de Turismo (ICT) y el aeropuerto de Liberia.
Para el Sr, Xavier Palomar, presidente de la Cámara de Turismo de Sámara identificarse como Cámara de Turismo de la Zona Azul de Costa Rica permite ofrecer un destino que integra Sámara, Nosara, Puerto Carrillo, Punta Islita, Puerto Humo y San Vicente de Nicoya, Pozo de Agua y Tempisque con atractivos muy interesantes, esto permitirá que los extranjeros que llegan al país, para permanecer 14 días en promedio, dediquen mayor parte de este tiempo a visitar estas zonas.
Palomar hace un llamado para que los empresarios turísticos dejen de lado los intereses personales y los localismos y entiendan que mediante la unión de todos es que podemos consolidar un destino turístico con diferentes paquetes que sean más deseables para el turista.
En las comunidades que conforman la Zona Azul de Costa Rica, se ofrece playas de excepcional belleza que permiten practicar deportes acuáticos como el surf, la pesca deportiva, el avistamiento de delfines y ballenas y sus crías; también ofrece tours por el río tempisque, visitas a las cavernas Barra Honda, así como Pozo de agua con su riqueza paisajística y admirar e incluso adquirir cerámica chorotega en San Vicente como manifestación de cultura y folclore; por lo que se puede combinar con el disfrute de las playas, tours a las montañas, cascadas, observación de aves y animales, todo en un territorio de cien kilómetros cuadrados.
