Le correspondió a Carlos Rojas profesional de golf de Reserva Conchal, ser anfitrión de los golfistas participantes en el torneo de golf Horace Kelton, realizado por primera vez fuera del Gran Area Metropolitana.
“Fue muy satisfactorio tener reunidos a los clubes de golf del país en Guanacaste y que se cumplieran las expectativas, como lo evidencia los elogios referentes al excelente estado del campo, la zona y la organización” señaló Rojas.
Hay que destacar que la presencia de 80 jugadores, sus respectivas familias y amigos que se hospedaron en hoteles y B&Bs del cantón Santa Cruz, trajeron un gran beneficio para el turismo en Guanacaste, dado los ingresos obtenidos por restaurantes y lugares de hospedaje.
Rojas puntualizó que la calidad del campo fue muy retadora al tiempo que agradeció a todo el equipo que colaboró en la organización del evento, así como a los medios de comunicación que dieron cobertura a las dos fechas del evento.
“Mi participación en este torneo se remonta a hace 12 años y reconozco que es uno de los más intensos y competitivos”, indicó Rojas, expresando además que “la estrategia de los equipos, de conformarlos con jugadores de poca experiencia con otros que tienen más tiempo de jugar golf, a fin de lograr un menor número de golpes, dice mucho de la organización de los clubes para enfrentar la presión que impone el campo”.
La copa rotativa del torneo Horace Kelton estará este año en la vitrina del Club Valle del Sol por espacio de un año.
Challenging Competition
Carlos Rojas, golf professional from Reserva Conchal, had the honor of hosting the participating golfers in the Horace Kelton golf tournament, held for the first time outside the Greater Metropolitan Area.
“It was very satisfying to have the country’s golf clubs gathered in Guanacaste and to meet expectations, as evidenced by the praise for the excellent condition of the course, the area, and the organization,” said Rojas.
It is worth noting that the presence of 80 players, their respective families, and friends who stayed in hotels and B&Bs in the Santa Cruz canton brought great benefits to tourism in Guanacaste, with increased revenue for restaurants and accommodation establishments.
Rojas emphasized that the quality of the course was highly challenging and expressed gratitude to the entire team that collaborated in organizing the event, as well as to the media that covered the two dates of the tournament.
“I have been participating in this tournament for 12 years, and I acknowledge that it is one of the most intense and competitive” said Rojas, adding that “the strategy of forming teams with players of varying levels of experience to achieve a lower number of strokes says a lot about the organization of the clubs in facing the pressure imposed by the course”.
The rotating trophy of the Horace Kelton tournament will be displayed in the Valle del Sol Club’s showcase for one year.
